## Quick answer

The main AI game maker apps for phones are Astrocade, Loopit, Sekai and Aippy, plus Castle, Nanogram, Upit, Max2D, Jamboree, Roblox Build and Roam. Astrocade and Sekai also run on the web, Max2D adds a 2D editor, and Roblox Build is still rolling out by region. Roam fits games with your friends in them, on iPhone.

"Not published" means we could not find it on the app's own pages. Roblox Build is rolling out by region. A summary of Roblox's Q3 2026 earnings call says a broader US rollout is planned for December. Roam does not publish its free limits.

## Which one to pick

**For playing with friends:** Roam, if you are on iPhone: friends can be in the game, solo if they are offline, together when they join. On Android, Castle's update notes mention parties and multiplayer.

**For the web and phones:** Astrocade and Sekai run on the web as well as both phone stores.

**For building by hand too:** Max2D, with an AI mode and a 2D editor that works offline, or Castle with its editor and templates.

## The apps, one by one

- **Astrocade** A feed of short AI-made games on web, iPhone and Android. Its listing claims over 1,000 new games a day. AI-made parts stay Astrocade Content, licensed for use on Astrocade. It is 13+.
- **Loopit** Short "playables": interactive memes, ASMR toys and mini puzzles in a never-ending feed, with remix. 5M+ downloads on Google Play. You keep your rights, but Loopit gets a perpetual, sublicensable license.
- **Sekai** Quizzes, interactive memes and mini games, made in seconds and shared by link in the group chat. 10M+ downloads on Google Play. Free; its App Store listing says it contains ads. You keep your contributions; its terms do not address AI output.
- **Aippy** Build by chatting, including tools, art and creations that use the camera or microphone. You keep ownership; Aippy gets a perpetual license on what you publish, and commercial use is allowed. Free plan: 4 messages a day, 20 a month.
- **Castle** A make-and-play app since 2021 with a hand editor for art, physics, logic and sound, not prompt-only. 10M+ downloads on Google Play. App Store notes mention parties and multiplayer. Your materials stay yours; Castle gets a sublicensable license.
- **Nanogram** Prompt a mini game, play it, publish it to a swipe feed, save games for offline play. Free credits each day, then each week. Its terms assign rights in AI-made games to Nanogram.
- **Upit** FRVR's maker on the web and iPhone, for 2D casual games. Multiplayer and 3D tools are listed as coming. Its terms say FRVR owns games generated with its AI.
- **Max2D** Two modes: describe it for 2D or 3D, or build in a 2D editor with visual scripting. On iOS the AI plan is $9.99 a week or $49.99 a year. Its terms say you own your AI games.
- **Jamboree** Start from a typed idea, a photo, a drawing or a screenshot, in 2D or 3D, then tap anything to change size, speed, sound or controls. iPhone, iOS 18 or later. Coins cost $4.99 to $19.99. The App Store rates it 4+.
- **Roblox Build** A prompt-to-game tab inside the Roblox app, rolling out by region, with a broader US rollout planned for December. Testing is open to age-checked users 9 and older.
- **Roam** Describe a game in a sentence or start from a photo, and it comes back playable with world, art, sound and rules. Change it by talking, then play solo or with friends in it. iPhone and iPad (App Store); Android is pre-register only.

## How to choose

Start with your phone. On Android today, Roam is out; Astrocade, Sekai, Loopit, Aippy, Castle, Nanogram and Max2D are all on Google Play. Then decide what the game is for. If it is for your friends to play together, check the friends column first: most apps share a link or a score, fewer put friends in the same game. ## Google Playground is not an app

Google launched Playground, an experimental platform for making games by chat, on October 7, 2026. It runs in the browser at playground.google, on a phone or a computer, with no app to install. It is open to people 18 and older in the US. Playing is free; making uses a weekly token budget.

- **Playabl** Make games by chatting with AI, on the web. Its terms say you own what you make, Playabl may use it to run and improve its AI, and the service is for business, not personal, use.
- **Bitmagic** A 3D game kit for your own coding agent. Games are free to play, with multiplayer on a hosted relay. Making games needs Bitmagic Pro. Your game is plain TypeScript in your own repository.
- **Seele** A web maker for 2D and 3D games with a free tier of credits. Its site says one link plays on phone and desktop, and you keep ownership of what you make.
- **Makko** A 2D game studio in the browser. Free tier: 150 art budget a month and 70 chat requests a week. You keep ownership; no revenue share.
