# Roblox Studio alternative for mobile: what works on a phone

To make a game on a phone, use Roblox Build, GDevelop, Castle or Roam. Roblox Studio itself runs only on Windows and Mac.

**Pick Roblox Build if:** You want your game on Roblox itself, you are 9 or older with a verified age, and Build has reached your region. Simple 2D games like clickers and side-scrollers suit it best for now.

**Pick GDevelop if:** You want to learn how games are built, place every piece yourself, and maybe publish to app stores later. It runs on phones and computers.

**Pick Castle if:** You like drawing your own art and building from templates, with a big community that plays and remixes what you post.

**Pick Roam if:** You want the game, not the editor. Describe it or use a photo, play it on your iPhone, and change it by saying what to change. Friends can be in it.

## Roblox Build, the phone option inside Roblox

Build is a tab in the Roblox mobile app: you type what you want, get a basic playable game and refine it by chatting. ## Studio is Windows and Mac only

Roblox's setup guide lists Windows 10 or macOS 10.14 as the minimum, and Studio is free at create.roblox.com. A "Roblox Studio APK" or iPad download on another site is not from Roblox.
