Flashlight on, mask tight, rain coming down: Mask On, Loot Out is a top down looter shooter you can finish in one sitting, in the Roam app on iPhone. You are a scavenger in Reedmire, a dark swamp of wrecked vehicles and black water. A flare lights in 28 seconds, and then you are on the clock. Loot what you can, shoot what comes at you and reach extraction before your luck runs out.

Controls

Move with the left joystick.
Aim and fire with the stick on the right.
Dash, reload, heal with a medkit and swap weapons with the side buttons.
Loot the swamp, then make it to extraction.

A top down looter shooter in the rain

Extraction shooters are about one tense question: do you grab one more thing, or get out now? Mask On, Loot Out asks it in a top-down swamp. The camera looks down at your flashlight cone cutting through the rain, so you see a little more than you would in first person, but never everything.

The controls are twin-stick, which fits a phone well. Left thumb moves, right thumb aims and fires. The side buttons handle the rest: dash out of trouble, reload, heal or swap guns.

Your HP and armor bars sit at the top, with ammo counted as 30 in the magazine and more in reserve. Coins pile up as you loot, so you can tell at a glance whether the run was worth the risk.

If you like Escape from Tarkov

The loop is the one Tarkov made famous: go in, loot, survive, extract. This is a quick top-down version made for short phone sessions, with no stash screens and no long walk. It is not related to Tarkov.

Tips for getting out alive

The swamp is dark, so turn your brightness up. Use the flare timer at the start to get your bearings. Reload behind cover. Save at least one medkit for the run to extraction, since that is when things tend to go wrong.
