1v1: just you and a rival
Chess on any online chess app is the oldest pick and still the most played duel. Clash Royale by Supercell is the phone version: short matches, one opponent. On Roam, CLUTCH is a 1v1 arena shooter over five rounds.
Squads: 3 to 5 per side
- Brawl Stars. Supercell's 3v3 top-down shooter on phones. Matches are a few minutes long.
- Rainbow Six Mobile. Ubisoft's free-to-play team tactical shooter for iOS and Android. Ubisoft set its worldwide launch for February 23, 2026.
- Block Wars. A Roam 5v5 first-person street shooter. Hold the block and chain kills.
- Color Rush Arena. A Roam team paint shooter, orange vs blue. Most paint wins.
Big lobbies: 8 and up
Fortnite, Roblox and Minecraft are still the biggest multiplayer platforms. Fortnite's battle royale drops 100 players on one island. Roblox is millions of player-made games, and Minecraft servers hold whole friend groups.
Among Us fits up to 15 players. Stumble Guys runs big knockout lobbies on phones. For PC players, Super Battle Golf launched on Steam on February 19, 2026, with up to 8 players in one match, and Scam With Your Friends entered Steam Early Access on October 16, 2026 for 1 to 8 players.
On Roam, Bed Blitz has eight sky islands and eight beds. Tank City has you level a district and get paid for every block. BROADSIDE BLITZ is pirate ship combat where the navy keeps coming. Slay the Glyph Wyrm is a top-down co-op fantasy RPG: choose a calling, head north, kill the wyrm.
