Play free nowLevel one is called First Ditch, and the job is plain: drain the pond into the creek. Trench Please is an excavator game in the Roam app on iPhone. You drive a low-poly digger with a working arm, park on the yellow ring and hold DIG to carve out the trench. The pond progress bar shows how much water is gone, while pine trees, cones and a top-down camera keep it tidy.
How to dig a trench
- Drive the excavator with the joystick.
- Park on the yellow ring.
- Hold DIG to scoop out the ground.
- Keep digging until the pond drains into the creek.
Why it is oddly satisfying
- A digger with a moving arm
- A pond that drains as your trench reaches the creek
- A pond progress bar you watch go down
- Gems and a score as extras
An excavator game without the sim homework
Most excavator simulators want you to learn real joystick controls for every part of the arm. Trench Please keeps one button: hold DIG on the ring and the arm does the work. The top-down camera shows the pond, the creek and the path between them.
That leaves the fun part: watching the trench take shape and the water start to move. Each ring you dig moves the trench a little closer to the creek, and the pond bar drops once the water has somewhere to go.
Calm enough for a five-year-old
Kids who love diggers, adults who like satisfying games, and anyone who enjoys construction games without pressure. Nothing chases you. It is the kind of game you can hand to a five-year-old.
Tip: follow the rings in order. They lead the trench from the pond toward the creek. Drive slowly near the cones and the trees, since the yellow ring is easier to hit when you are not overshooting it.
How it compares to other digging games
Many digging games are about finding things underground. Trench Please is about moving water. The trench is a tool, and the pond draining is the payoff.
It is slow on purpose. If you like calm, tidy jobs with a clear finish, it scratches that itch. The low-poly forest, the cones and the little excavator make it look like a toy set on a table.
