School is out, and you step into a warm hallway with striped wallpaper, a red runner and a staircase. Welcome Home, Dear is a house anomaly game: you come home every day for 21 days and look for what is wrong this time. A paper calendar at the top counts the days, and your best streak sits beside it. It plays in first person in the Roam app on iPhone, and it rewards slow, careful looking.

How a day at home works

  1. Drag the stick on the left to walk through the house.
  2. Look around the hallway, the stairs and the rooms beyond them.
  3. Tap the hand button to interact with what you find.
  4. Notice what is out of place and get through all 21 days.

Small details, big chills

  • One old house you learn by heart: a hanging lamp, a dresser, a red carpet runner.
  • A 21-day paper calendar that turns the routine into a countdown.
  • Scares built on what changed, so paying attention is the skill.
  • A best-days record to beat on the next try.

If you like The Exit 8

The idea will feel familiar. You walk the same place again and again, and the job is to spot when something is off. As in I'm on Observation Duty, the fear comes from knowing a room so well that a small change jumps out.

Here the place is a family home instead of a subway passage or a wall of cameras. That makes it personal: it is your hallway and your stairs that stop being right, and Mother is part of the house too.

Who this house anomaly game is for

It is for players who enjoy slow tension and like being the one who catches the detail. There is no rush, and the creepy part builds as the days pile up.

If you want constant action, it will feel slow. Play it with the sound on, in a dim room, and it lands much harder.

A good habit is to take a long look on Day 1. The more of the normal house you remember, the easier it is to feel that something is off later.
