Play free nowYour chibi swordsman starts next to a glowing fountain in a village plaza, and Ren, the first character you meet, gives the advice everyone gets on day one: slimes first. Blade Ascent is a tower climbing RPG game played in the Roam app on iPhone, built around seven floors that get harder on the way up. You hack through slimes and monster camps, pick up loot, forge it into better blades and unlock skills as you level. The story is called The Seven Seals, and it ends with the keepers' seals at the top.
How a climb works
- Steer your hero with the joystick in the bottom left corner.
- Tap the big red sword button to attack, and use the smaller buttons for a potion, a dodge and your skills.
- Skill slots open at set levels, like level 8 and level 20, and the ULT button fires once it charges.
- Between floors, turn your loot into stronger gear at the forge, then head up to the next floor.
What you get on the way up
- Seven floors, each with its own monsters and camps to clear.
- A forge that turns loot into better weapons, plus mastery for the blades you use most.
- Skills that unlock with your level and an ultimate attack for crowded fights.
- A village hub with a daily login bonus and a cast of characters who carry the story.
If you like Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact is the reason so many people look for an anime action RPG on their phone: a sword, a skill button, an ultimate and a first enemy that is almost always a slime. Blade Ascent uses the same kind of controls on a much smaller scale. Your hero is chibi, the art is bright and toon shaded, and a fight takes a few taps instead of a long combo.
What it skips is the open world. Instead of wandering a huge map, you climb one floor after another, and your power comes from levels, loot drops and the forge.
A tower climbing RPG game in short sessions
The tower climb is an old RPG shape that manhwa and anime fans know well: every floor is a wall, and you pass it only when you are strong enough. It fits a phone. A floor is one clear goal, the level bar shows how close the next unlock is, and a short session still moves you up.
Listen to Ren and farm slimes first, because the early levels come fast. Save your ULT for a camp, where monsters stand close together, and keep a potion for when your health drops low.
