The Grand Duel Cup is coming, and your deck is empty. CARDBOUND starts you in a forest village at night with a small hero, a few lanterns and a counter that reads 0 of 40. Drag to walk, follow the glow, and every card you touch joins your deck. Most card collecting games hand you packs to open, but this one sends you out to find each card yourself, in the Roam app on iPhone.

How the card hunt works

  1. Drag anywhere on the screen to walk your hero around the village.
  2. Walk over a glowing card to add it to your deck.
  3. Grab the coins lying along paths and near the houses.
  4. Check the counter at the top to see how many of the 40 cards you still need.
  5. Fill your deck to get ready for the Grand Duel Cup.

What you will find in the village

  • 40 cards hidden in the grass, by fences and under lanterns
  • A dark forest village lit by warm lamps and drifting sparks
  • Drag-only controls, so one thumb is enough
  • Coins and stars tracked at the top of the screen

Card collecting games where you walk instead of open packs

Card games on phones usually live in menus. You tap a pack, the cards flip, done. CARDBOUND turns the collection into a walk. Each card is an object in the world, glowing between the trees, and you have to spot it.

That makes it closer to an exploration game than a card battler. The duel at the end is the reason to collect, but the fun right now is the hunt, and the small thrill of seeing the counter tick up.

Who will enjoy the hunt

Players who like cozy games with a clear list to finish. The counter turns a calm evening walk into a goal you can check off card by card.

It also suits anyone new to card games. There is no rules wall at the start, just a village, a hero and the next glowing card.

The counter tracks 40 cards to find around the village. Some sit in plain sight on the path, others hide near fences, trees and houses.
