Earth hangs over the horizon, a lander sits on the grey dust, and your little astronaut is carrying 0 kg of cargo. Crater Crew is a moon tycoon you play in the Roam app on iPhone. You walk around the lunar base, pick up cargo and bring it in to grow the Depot Plaza, whose progress bar starts at 7%. A boot button lets you jump or dash to cover ground faster.

How the base grows

Drag on the left to walk your astronaut.
Tap the boot button to jump or dash.
Collect cargo around the base. It is counted in kg.
Deliver it to fill the Depot Plaza progress bar, and keep an eye on the fuel gauge.

A moon tycoon in small steps

Tycoon games are about watching a number turn into a place. Crater Crew does it with cargo. Every kilo you carry back moves the depot bar, and the depot grows with it.

It is a calm walk-and-collect game, closer to an idle space game than to a shooter. Good for a few minutes of tidy progress on the moon.

Tips for new crew

The game only tells you how to move at first, so start by walking a loop around the plaza and grabbing everything nearby.

Use the boot button to cover distance faster, and keep an eye on the fuel gauge next to the progress bar. Delivering often keeps the depot bar moving.

Space tycoon games often mean menus full of numbers. Crater Crew keeps the numbers small and puts you on the ground. You are the one walking the cargo back, so every kilo feels earned.
