Play free nowThe redwood trail is quiet and a fox is sitting in the grass when your shift begins. Nothing To Report is a park ranger horror game that starts like a nature walk: binoculars in one hand, camera in the other, a daily goal at the top of the screen. Then something happens to the animals, and your job becomes taking photos of the remains. The shift plays out in first person in the Roam app on iPhone.
Your shift on the trail
- Walk the trail with the joystick.
- Tap the binoculars to watch animals from far away.
- Tap the camera to take a photo when the goal asks for it.
- Log all 3 sightings to finish the day.
What makes it creepy
- A stylized redwood forest with a slow, creeping dread
- Binoculars and a camera as your only tools
- Daily goals with a sighting counter
- Photos that go on the record, whatever you find
A park ranger horror game told through a camera
You never carry a weapon. The tools are binoculars and a camera, and the horror comes from what they show you. The calm first minutes are the setup, not filler.
Each sighting goes into your report, which is where the name comes from. The forest stays pretty while the story underneath it gets worse.
It is a different kind of fear from a chase game. Nothing jumps out to kill you in the first minutes. Instead the dread builds as the sightings stack up and the report you are filing starts to look like evidence.
Tips for your first day
Use the binoculars often. Animals and clues are easier to spot from a distance, and the goal tells you what the report needs.
Take your time. It is a slow game by design, and walking the trail without rushing is part of the mood.
For fans of quiet horror
It works best for fans of photography horror games and quiet forest horror. It shows some blood, so it suits older players. It is a solo story.
The redwoods and grass are nicely drawn, which makes the dark turn hit harder.
