A toy-like island sits in a calm sea, roads loop between pine trees, and nine houses wait in the dark with a question mark over each. Overload Island is an electricity puzzle game and town builder in the Roam app on iPhone. You start with $1,600 and a power plant. Tap Line, run cables to each house and get the lights on. Connect too many on one line and the grid overloads, so the real job is planning where the power goes.

Building the grid

  1. Move around the island with the joystick.
  2. Tap Line to start building a power line from the plant.
  3. Connect houses marked with a question mark.
  4. Tap Remove to take down a line you placed wrong.
  5. Power all 9 homes without overloading, while keeping town mood up.

What makes it a puzzle

  • A budget, starting at $1,600, for every line you build.
  • A town mood meter that reacts to how well you power homes.
  • Overloads that punish lazy wiring.
  • A clean low-poly island with roads, cars and soft shadows.

An electricity puzzle game with a whole town

Most electricity puzzle games are wires on a grid: connect A to B. Overload Island puts that on a real little island. Houses are spread out, roads get in the way and every line costs money from your budget.

The overload is the twist. You cannot just run one cable everywhere. You have to share the load, which turns a simple wiring task into a planning puzzle.

The island looks like a toy town, with cars on the roads and soft shadows under the trees, so it is pleasant to look at while you plan.

Tips for a stable grid

Do not spend the whole $1,600 on the first few houses. Plan the full route first, then build. Spread houses across lines so no single line carries too much.

Watch the kWh counter and the homes counter together. If mood starts to drop, a house is waiting too long, so connect it next. Use fast-forward once the grid is stable.
