After hours in a kids' TV studio, the spotlight is still on and the puppet mascot is still walking the set. Stay Tuned, Kid belongs with mascot horror games, the genre Poppy Playtime made famous, and you play it in the Roam app on iPhone. Each floor starts with a TV-shaped timer at 5:00 and three hearts. Grab all the glowing Glimmers on the checkered floor, 40 of them on the first, before the clock runs out or the mascot finds you.

Controls and goal

Move with the joystick on the left.
Use the buttons on the right to sprint, jump and grab.
Collect the glowing Glimmers on each floor.
Stay away from the puppet and beat the timer.

Mascot horror games meet a kids' TV studio

Mascot horror has a simple recipe: something made for children, turned wrong. Poppy Playtime did it with a toy factory, Garten of Banban with a kindergarten. Stay Tuned, Kid does it with a kids' TV show. Bright colors, a cheerful set and a puppet that should not be moving.

The game is a collectathon at heart. You are not solving long puzzles. You are racing the clock to grab every Glimmer while keeping track of where the mascot is. That makes it quicker and more frantic than a chapter of Poppy Playtime.

Tips for your first floor

Sprint between Glimmers, but stop and look before you turn a corner. Grab the easy ones near the start first, so the timer pressure is lower later. If you lose a heart, back off and let the mascot wander away. The first floor is a rehearsal, so use it to learn the layout.

Fans of mascot horror who want a short, tense run on their phone. It is spooky rather than gory.

The TV-shaped HUD is a nice touch: the timer sits inside a little screen, with your hearts below it and a ticket counter for extra points. Each new floor brings a banner and a fresh count of Glimmers to find.
