Fog on the water, ruins in the swamp, and a counter that says wave 1 of 12. Stoke the Blade is one of those hack and slash games where every swing builds toward something bigger. Your horned warrior cuts through swamp creatures in the Amber Fen, and each strike heats the blade until fire attacks open up. It plays in the Roam app on iPhone. Dash out when they surround you.

Strike, heat, burn

  1. Move with the joystick.
  2. Tap sword strike to slash. Each hit heats the blade.
  3. Once the blade is hot, use the fire skill.
  4. Tap dash to get out of a crowd.
  5. Survive all 12 waves.

What makes it juicy

  • A heat system that turns normal swings into fire attacks
  • 12 waves of swamp creatures
  • Slash effects and a skull counter for kills
  • A foggy voxel swamp with water and ruins

Hack and slash games with a build-up

In many wave fighters your sword is the same at wave 12 as at wave 1. Here the blade changes during the fight: strike to heat it, then spend that heat on fire. Your horned warrior gets stronger inside a single wave, not only between them.

That gives every wave a rhythm: slash to build up, burn to clear, dash to reset. The hint on screen says it plainly: strike to heat the blade.

Tips for the Amber Fen

The swamp is dark, so turn your brightness up. Enemies are easier to see. The red flashes when you take a hit also help you notice danger.

Do not waste the fire skill on one enemy. Wait until a group closes in, then burn them together. Dash early when you see a crowd forming behind you, then turn and strike again to keep the blade hot.

Nonstop waves, clear finish

Action fans who want nonstop fighting. There is no story to wait through, just waves and a sword that keeps getting hotter. The swamp, the fog and the ruins give it a dark fantasy mood.

It suits short, intense sessions. Twelve waves give you a clear finish line, and the skull counter shows how much damage you did.
