The water is black except for the cone of your headlamp. This cave diving game follows a lone diver going down a flooded cave, one passage at a time. You watch the oxygen, light flares when the dark gets too close, and pick up glowing shards on the way. A story about a lost glowing flower unfolds across five dives. The descent happens in the Roam app on iPhone, at a slow and quiet pace.

How a dive works

  1. Drag the stick to swim through the cave.
  2. Keep an eye on your oxygen as you go deeper.
  3. Use flares to light up dark passages.
  4. Grab the glowing shards for points.
  5. Reach the end of the dive to move on.

What you carry down

  • Five dives, starting in Cenote Gardens
  • Oxygen and flares to manage
  • A quiet story told as you go deeper
  • Faceted green rock lit only by your lamp

A cave diving game that is really a story

Cave diving in real life is about planning: air, light and the way back. SUMP turns that into a game. Oxygen is your clock, flares are your light, and the cave does not care which way you came in.

The story gives the descent a reason. You are looking for a lost glowing flower, and each dive tells you a little more about why it matters.

Tips for your first dive

Use flares at junctions, not in straight tunnels. A lit junction shows you where the passages split, which saves oxygen on wrong turns.

Do not chase every shard. Points are nice, but oxygen is what ends a dive, so pick up what is on your route and keep moving down.

Best with the sound on

It is aimed at players who like underwater exploration games with mood over action. It is slow and dark by design, and it is a solo dive.

Play it with sound on and the room dark. The cave is mostly black, and the small light of the headlamp feels bigger when nothing else is lit.

SUMP FAQ

Does SUMP cost anything?

No. SUMP is free to play in the Roam app on iPhone.

What happens on a dive in SUMP?

Swim a diver through a dark underwater cave, manage oxygen and flares, collect glowing shards and reach the end of each of the five dives while the story unfolds.

Is SUMP a scary cave diving game?

It is tense rather than scary. The dark, the silence and the oxygen meter do the work, and the story is more sad and strange than shocking.

Can I play SUMP with a friend?

No. SUMP is a solo dive: one diver, one cave and a story you follow on your own.
