Ride the Pale Road. Swing at whatever blocks it.
Free on iPhone in the Roam app. Android coming soon.
Play free nowYou see the road from the saddle. WAYFARE puts you on a horse galloping down The Pale Road, a stone path through mountains, rocks and trees, and asks for three things: steer between lanes, jump the logs and duck the branches. A sword button handles the enemies in your way, and coins line the road. It is a horse running game in first person, played free in the Roam app on iPhone. The picture is letterboxed like a film, which suits the ride.
Riding controls
- Use the stick to steer between lanes.
- Tap jump to clear logs on the road.
- Tap duck to pass under low branches.
- Tap the sword button to strike enemies, and grab coins as you ride.
Why it beats a plain runner
- A first-person view from the saddle
- A sword, so obstacles are not the only thing to react to
- Named zones along the road, starting with The Pale Road
- A pixel-filtered 3D look with mountains on the horizon
Next to games like Temple Run and Subway Surfers
Temple Run and Subway Surfers taught everyone the lane runner: switch lanes, jump, slide, collect coins. WAYFARE uses the same moves and changes the camera. You ride a horse in first person, so obstacles come straight at you.
The sword is the other big change. Some things in your way are enemies, and you deal with them by striking instead of dodging.
Tips for a longer ride
Learn the three prompts early: STEER, JUMP and DUCK. The tutorial shows each one as it comes up.
Keep your thumb near the sword. Hitting an enemy in time is one less lane change to make.
Collect coins when the lane is clear and focus on obstacles when it is not.
A horse running game with a fantasy road
Most horse games are about care or racing on a track. WAYFARE is a journey: one road, named zones and a rider with a blade. The distance bar shows how far along the road you are.
It suits runner fans who want a new view, and fantasy fans who like the idea of riding into danger at full gallop.

Yes. The ride down The Pale Road is free in the Roam app on iPhone.
Is WAYFARE like Temple Run?
Yes. It is a lane runner like Temple Run, but you ride a horse in first person and carry a sword. Jump, duck and strike are separate buttons, so each threat has its own answer.
Which buttons does WAYFARE use?
A stick to steer, plus jump, duck and sword buttons.
Is WAYFARE a horse running game or a horse riding game?
Both. The whole run happens on horseback, seen from the saddle, and the goal is to keep riding down the road.
