Roam

Make me a game: how to ask so you get the one you want

You can ask for a game the way you would ask a friend: one sentence that says what kind, where, who is in it and how you lose. Roam turns that sentence into a playable game on your iPhone. Below is the formula, requests you can copy, and how to fix the first version.

The four blanks

A good request fills four blanks. Skip one and the game has to guess for you.

Requests you can copy

Each line below fills all four blanks. Paste one as is, or swap a word to make it yours.

When the first version is not right

The first build is a draft. You fix it in the same conversation by saying what is wrong: "more enemies", "slower", "make it two-player", "the boss should be my cat". Change one thing per message so you can tell what each change did.

For a feel of what comes out, play CLUTCH, a 1v1 arena shooter where you win on your last 20 HP, Attack on Brainrot, with grapple hooks and giant memes, and Rush Order: take the order, hit the gas, get paid.

Play it on Roam

Make your game with Roam

Pick a request above or fill in your own four blanks. Roam is free on iPhone, and you can play the game solo or send it to friends.

Try: "battle royale in my school, shrinking zone, my friends are the players, last one standing wins"

Questions people ask

Can someone make a game for me for free?

Yes. Roam is a free iPhone app: you describe the game and it builds a playable version. Hiring a developer costs money; describing it to Roam does not.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. The input is a sentence or a photo, and you change the game by saying what to change.

Can I play the game with my friends?

Yes. Play solo, or put your friends in the game and play together when they join.
