Pop the Slime King is an archer roguelike game with a bit more chaos than most, and it runs in the Roam app on iPhone. A horned knight archer walks into Shrine Meadow as slimes bounce in from all sides. Your bow fires on its own, so you dodge, throw fire and ice skills and pick a relic every time you level up. Clear the waves of each realm and the Slime King is waiting at the end.

How to play a realm

Drag on the left to move. Your bow shoots by itself.
Tap the fire, ice and star skills, or drink a potion.
Use the boots button to dash out of a crowd.
Clear each wave, like "pop 15 slimes", then beat the Slime King.

What carries over from Archero

Archero made the auto-shooting archer a mobile classic. Pop the Slime King keeps that hero and the idea that moving is your main skill. It mixes in the crowds of Vampire Survivors, so you face whole waves, not a few enemies in a room.

The skill buttons give you more to do than in most auto-shooters. Fire, ice and star skills hit groups, a potion heals, and the boots let you slip away. Each run shapes itself through the relics you pick, which keeps the realms from feeling the same.

Tips for reaching the Slime King

Read the wave goal at the top. It tells you how many slimes to pop. Move in arcs so the slimes bunch up, then use fire or ice on the bunch. Keep the potion for the boss fight if you can.

How it looks and feels

Shrine Meadow is a bright painted arena with ruins and a big tree, and your hero is a cute horned knight. Hits pop with effects and damage numbers, so you can always tell what is working. A short illustrated title splash plays before the first realm, then the slimes start bouncing in.
