Zombies pour onto a sandy beach camp and your gun starts firing on its own. Rotten Rounds is a top down zombie shooter in the survivor style, played in the Roam app on iPhone. You move, dodge and throw grenades while the hero shoots, and you choose a new upgrade every time you level up. Between waves you haul green parts back to camp, and there are 12 waves to get through.

How a run works

Drag to move. Your hero shoots by himself.
Pick an upgrade card each time you level up.
Throw grenades and dash out of trouble.
Bring green parts back to camp and survive all 12 waves.

A top down zombie shooter, survivor style

Classic top-down zombie shooters make you aim every shot. Rotten Rounds hands that job to the game. Your hero fires on his own, so your thumb handles movement and your head handles choices. Where do you stand? Which upgrade do you take? When do you throw the grenade?

The beach camp gives it a clear setting: a truck, palm trees, sand and a lot of zombies coming in. Damage numbers pop on every hit, so you can feel your build getting stronger.

If you like Vampire Survivors or Survivor.io

The loop will feel familiar: auto-attacks, swarms and upgrade picks. Rotten Rounds adds a camp to return to with green parts, and a fixed goal of 12 waves, so every run has a finish line.

Tips for wave 12

Read the zone banner at the start. It warns you about new zombies, like Exploders: keep your distance. Move in loops so the horde trails behind you. Throw grenades into the thickest part of the crowd, and keep dash for escapes.

When the level-up card appears, the game pauses until you choose, so take a second to read all the options. Upgrades that boost damage early make the later waves much easier to survive.
