Hold the Hour is a wizard Vampire Survivors game: a tiny mage, a green meadow and skeletons closing in from every side. You play it in the Roam app on iPhone. Your weapons attack on their own, so your job is to move, dash out of trouble and fire NOVA when the crowd gets thick. Every level-up offers a choice of weapons and relics, and the run grows wilder as they stack.

How a run works

Drag on the left side to move your mage.
Your weapons attack automatically. Focus on dodging.
Tap NOVA for a burst around you and DASH to escape.
On each level-up, pick one of three weapons or relics, or reroll.

The loop is the one that made Vampire Survivors a hit: auto-attacks, huge crowds and upgrades on level-up. You never aim. You choose where to stand and what to take. That is why it is so easy to keep playing.

Hold the Hour adds two active buttons. NOVA clears space when you are surrounded, and DASH gets you through a gap you could not walk through. With those, a mistake is not always the end of the run. The mage hero and the bright voxel meadow give it its own look, closer to a cute fantasy than a gothic castle.

Tips for surviving longer

Keep moving in wide circles so the horde follows you in a line. Read the level-up cards, because some picks work much better together. Save DASH for escapes, not for travel.
