A warm-lit tomb corridor, painted walls, papyrus on the floor and two counters: 0/2 scarabs and 0/1 ankh. Become the Mural is an Egyptian puzzle game played in first person in the Roam app on iPhone. Its trick: face a painted wall and tap FLATTEN, and you become part of the mural, able to walk through the painting to places your 3D self cannot reach. A lamp lights the dark parts.

Drag on the left to walk, and drag the right side to look.
Face a painted wall and tap FLATTEN to step into the mural.

Egyptian puzzle game tips

The first screen only shows the controls. Give it a few seconds and the goal hint appears: face the painted wall and flatten.

Step back from walls to read the room. The camera starts close to the wall, and a wider view makes it easier to see which mural leads somewhere. Use LAMP in dark spots, since some murals are hard to see without it, and keep count of the scarabs and the ankh at the top.

A clever rule, not a hard one

Puzzle fans who like a clever rule more than a hard one. Once flattening clicks, the tomb starts to look different. It is a slow, thinking game.
