How to dig

Everyone knows the saying. Sift Happens turns it into a task you can actually try: a full haystack, one needle and a timer. It is a joke you can win, and the first round takes ninety seconds.
The physics is the star. Each dig sends straw flying, so the pile changes as you work, and you are always deciding whether to keep digging or move to a new spot.
Tips to find it faster
Do not dig in one hole forever. Work the pile in sections and move on when nothing turns up. A pile you have already scattered is easier to read than a fresh one.
Watch the text at the top. A hint that the glint is far off means it is time to sprint, not dig. Sprinting with the boot button gets you to the far side of the stack before the clock eats your time.
Hidden object, but physical
Fans of hidden object games who want something more physical than tapping a picture. Here you have to move the clutter yourself.
It is also a good laugh. The idea is silly, the farmer is a ragdoll on the title screen, and watching a whole haystack explode around one needle never gets old. It is a good game to show someone who has never played anything on Roam.
