Raccoon mobsters in pinstripe suits stole your burger, and they are hiding on every floor of a lime-green tenement. Your first move is to run down the hall and bonk one with a frying pan, which drops him flat on the floorboards. Hangry Hour is a first person beat em up with chunky pixel art, short floors and a lot of slapstick over one lunch. You play it in the Roam app on iPhone.

Controls and the climb

Drag the stick on the left to run through the halls.
Swing the skillet at any raccoon in reach, or fire a weapon you picked up.
Tap the shoe to kick a raccoon into the wall and the bolt to dash out of trouble.
Clear the floor, take the stairs and keep going up to get your burger back.

If you like Doom

The layout will feel familiar: narrow halls, doors, enemies that rush you and a weapon in the bottom corner of the screen. Like the 1993 Doom, you push forward and deal with whatever comes around the corner.

The difference is tone and pace. Most fights start with a frying pan, not a shotgun, and the enemies are mob raccoons who fly across the room when you connect. Floors are short, so a run fits in a coffee break.

Playing a first person beat em up on a phone

Keep moving. A raccoon gets its hits in when you stand still in a doorway, so dash past the first one and turn to swing.

Kick before you swing. A kicked raccoon slams into the wall and gives you a free shot. Save the guns for crowded rooms and use the skillet on lone mobsters, since a gun is far more useful when three of them come at once.
