"Hold the Gate" reads the banner, and you are on a stone wall with a longbow in your hands. Longbow Siege is a first-person archery game played in the Roam app on iPhone. Husks march up the dirt path through a sunny meadow toward the gate. Drag to aim, hold DRAW and release to loose an arrow, stop each wave, then survive the next day as the siege grows.

Controls

  1. Drag anywhere to aim your bow.
  2. Hold DRAW, then release to shoot.
  3. Use PIERCE for shots that go through enemies and FOCUS for careful aim.
  4. Stop every husk before it reaches the gate.

What you get

  • First-person longbow shooting from a castle wall
  • Waves that grow every day, starting with The First Husks
  • Special PIERCE and FOCUS shots
  • A bright meadow, forest and ruins in front of you

An archery game about holding a line

Many bow games are target practice. Longbow Siege gives your arrows a job. Every husk you drop is one fewer at the gate, and the day only ends when the wave is gone. That turns each shot into a small decision: the closest enemy, or the one that is easiest to hit?

The bow feels like a bow. You hold to draw and release to shoot, so timing matters. The first husks start far away, small figures on the path, which gives you time to learn the arc before the waves get bigger.

Each day is announced with a banner, and each wave has its own name, so you always know where you are in the siege. The meadow is bright, with tall grass, pines and a blue sky, which makes the dark husks easy to pick out once they come closer.

Tips for the first days

Take your time on early shots. The husks are far, so aim a little above them. Save PIERCE for when several husks walk in a line, so one arrow hits them all. Use FOCUS when you need to land a hard shot. Watch the gate, not the score.

Made for

Fans of bow and arrow games, castle defense and calm wave shooters. It works well for short sessions, one day at a time.
