The mountain wakes up, and it does not want visitors. Be The Mountain is a reverse tower defense game where you play the peak itself: a crowd of cute climbers heads for the summit, and you drag disaster cards onto them. Blizzard, Landslide and Loose Snow sit in your hand, and a short narrated intro sets up the joke before wave 1 of 3. You play it in the Roam app on iPhone, one card drag at a time.

How to play the mountain

Look at the four power cards in your hand.
Drag a card onto the climbers to drop that disaster on them.
Keep an eye on the Wrath meter and the skull counter at the top.
Stop the climbers across 3 waves before they reach the summit.

A reverse tower defense game with weather

In normal tower defense you protect a base from a crowd. Here you are the obstacle. The climbers walk the path, and your job is to time cards so they land where the group is thickest.

Because the cards are disasters instead of towers, every drop is a small show: snow puffs, sliding rock and climbers knocked back. Think of it as card based tower defense where you play the side that usually loses.

Tips for your first waves

Wait for climbers to bunch up before you drag a card. One landslide on a group is worth more than three on a lone climber.

Loose Snow shows up twice in the opening hand, so you can spend one early and still hold one back for when the line gets close to the top.

A strategy game for short sessions

Strategy fans who like short sessions, and anyone who enjoys playing the villain. Each wave is a few card drags, so it fits a coffee break.

It is also a good pick if tower defense usually feels slow to you. There is nothing to build first: the cards are in your hand from the start, and the climbers are already walking.
