Day 1 of 5, and the tax board already says 0 of 300. Pumpkins Pay Out is a slot machine roguelike played in the Roam app on iPhone, set on a small farm cut through by water channels. You play seed cards from your hand onto the plots, tap the robot pumpkins to spin their blue reels and bank whatever they pay. Run out of energy, end the day, and hope the jackpots land before day 5.

One farm day, step by step

  1. Drag seed cards like Jackpot, Carrot and Pumpkin from your hand onto empty plots.
  2. Each card costs energy. The lightning number in the corner shows what is left.
  3. Tap pumpkins with blue reels to spin them and collect the payout.
  4. Use the sickle to harvest, then press End Day when you are done.
  5. Pay the tax before the 5 days run out.

Why the pumpkins matter

  • A slot machine on every pumpkin, so planting is also building your reels.
  • A tax target and a 5-day clock that make every card count.
  • Jackpots and multipliers as big as x12.
  • Weather, seasons and a Headless boss further in.

If Luck be a Landlord is your thing

Luck be a Landlord made the spin, earn, pay format popular: spin the machine, cash out, cover the rent, grow the machine. Pumpkins Pay Out keeps the deadline and the rising bill, and swaps rent for a farm tax.

Where it differs is the board. Your reels are not one fixed machine. They are pumpkins you plant on a grid with cards, so the cards you draw and where you put them decide what you can spin. The cozy wooden UI and the river through the plots make it look more like a farm sim than a casino.

First week tips for this slot machine roguelike

Jackpot cards plant the robot pumpkins with reels, so they are the ones that pay. Carrots cost 1 energy, which makes them handy filler at the end of a turn.

Glance at the weather icons along the top before planning; the week comes with a forecast. And try not to end a day with energy left over unless your hand is empty.

A good first aim is getting three or four reel pumpkins on the board by day 2, so the rest of the week has something to spin.

Pumpkins Pay Out FAQ

Do I spend real money on the pumpkin slots?

No. The pumpkin reels only pay in-game money toward the tax. Pumpkins Pay Out is free in Roam, and Roam itself is a free app for iPhone.

What is a slot machine roguelike?

A game where you build up a slot machine over a run and use its payouts to meet rising targets. Here the slots are pumpkins and the targets are taxes.

How long is the first deadline?

Five days, with a tax of 300. After that the game moves on through weeks and seasons, and the stakes climb.

Is Pumpkins Pay Out like Luck be a Landlord?

Close. Both are about spinning slots to meet a payment before it comes due. This one adds a farm grid, seed cards and energy, so you also plan where your reels grow.
