Three blocky players a side, a bright pitch and a ladder of rival teams make up this 3v3 soccer game in the Roam app on iPhone. You run, pass, tackle and shoot like any arcade football match. The twist is in the name: every goal the other team scores hands you a wild card, a rule change you can use to claw your way back. Win the match and you move up a ladder of rival teams.

Controls and the wild-card rule

  1. Drag on the left side of the screen to run.
  2. Use the buttons on the right to pass or switch player, sprint, and shoot or tackle.
  3. When you concede a goal, pick the wild-card rule change you are offered.
  4. Use that rule to swing the match back your way.
  5. Win matches to climb the ladder of rival teams.

What makes it different

  • Quick 3v3 matches with a simple top-down camera
  • Rule-changing wild cards that only appear when you fall behind
  • A ladder of teams to beat, one match at a time
  • Chunky voxel players and a cheering crowd

A 3v3 soccer game that rewards a bad start

In most arcade soccer games, going a goal down just means you are losing. Here it means you get a card. That flips how a match feels. A goal against you stings for a second, then you get to change the rules and hit back.

It also keeps matches close. The team that is behind always has a tool to come back with, so few games are decided early. If you like arcade soccer with power-ups, this scratches the same itch with a rule-bending spin of its own.

Tips for climbing the ladder

Do not panic after the first goal against you. Read the wild card before you pick, and think about what your team does well. Pass more than you dribble in 3v3, because there is plenty of open space. Save the tackle for when an opponent is already near your goal.

What a match looks like

Kick-off comes fast after a short VS card. The camera sits above a bright striped pitch, so you can see all six players at once. A hint bubble teaches the controls as you go: run first, then tackle and shoot. Matches are short, which is what makes the ladder work. You can lose one, learn what went wrong and be back on the pitch a minute later.
