You wake in a grey test facility with a voice in the speakers that is not impressed with you. TEST CHAMBER is one of those games like Portal where the room is the puzzle: find the route, step through the glowing portal and reach the exit. A timer runs from the first step, and a three-star target tells you how fast is fast. Roam, a free app for iPhone, runs it in first person.

How each chamber works

Walk with the joystick and drag on the right side to look.
Tap the jump button to hop up and across gaps.
Step through the portal to move on.

It is a lighter, shorter take. You do not carry a portal gun. The portals are placed for you, so the challenge is reading the room and moving through it cleanly. It is a game made on Roam, with no link to Valve.

Look around before you move. The clock is already running, but two seconds spent spotting the portal saves more than that in wrong turns.

Once you know the route, replay for time. The star target rewards a clean line, so cut corners and jump only when you need to.
