Last Block Standing is a blocky shooter game for the Roam app on iPhone, set in a World War II town built from voxels, where you fight in first person beside your squad. Walls crumble under fire, snipers hold the windows and a tank eventually rolls into the street.
Controls for Operation 1
- Move with the faint joystick on the left and jump with its button.
- Drag the right side of the screen to look around and aim.
- Hold the crosshair button to fire, and reload when the ammo count runs low.
- Throw grenades and use the binoculars to pick out targets.
- Push forward with your squad and take the objective.
War, block by block
- Destructible voxel buildings that break apart under fire and explosions.
- Squad mates fighting alongside you, shown by icons on the right edge.
- Snipers, an INCOMING! warning and a tank in the streets.
- Operation title cards that give each fight a clear goal.
If you like Call of Duty: WWII
The setup will feel familiar: a named operation, a squad, a European town and an objective to take. That is the Call of Duty: WWII campaign formula, shrunk to fit a phone.
The look is the big change. Everything is made of blocks, so cover is temporary. A wall you hide behind can be chewed away, which makes moving between buildings matter more than in a normal shooter.
First tips for a blocky shooter game
Do what the title card says: stay low and stay near the squad. Running ahead alone is how snipers find you.
When INCOMING! flashes, move. Grenades and shells take whole chunks out of the scenery, and you do not want to be part of that chunk. Use the binoculars before you cross open ground so the windows hold no surprises.
For players who want the fight fast
Players who want a WWII shooter on a phone that does not take an hour to set up. The opening flyover shows the town, the title card gives the goal, and the fighting starts right after.
It also suits anyone who likes a world that reacts. Shooting a wall and watching blocks fall out of it never gets old, and it changes how you move through each street.
